Hexagon wins Toka Tindung software deal

Swedish mining software company Hexagon will supply Archi Indonesias open-pit Toka Tindung gold mine in North Sulawesi with a suite of fleet management and safety solutions.

The multi-solution project includes the deployment of systems for fleet management, operator alertness, blast monitoring and enterprise analytics by October. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“We look forward to building our relationship with Archi Indonesia as it further develops the potential of Toka Tindung,” said Shane Boak, business manager and general manager sales, Hexagon’s Mining division.

Archi Indonesia’s Toka Tindungis one of the largest gold mines in Southeast Asia, with potential resources of 2.7 million ounces. It is currently undergoing a plant expansion that willincrease production capacity from 2.1 million t/yr to 3 million t/yr.

“Hexagon’s suite of integrated products and industry-proven technology solutions played a major part of the decision-making process,” said Ian Wraight, Fleet Management Systems Advisor for Archi.

Archi Indonesia is a fully owned subsidiary of Rajawali Corpora.After being acquired by the Rajawali Group in 2010, the Toka Tindung Project mined its first gold ores from the first of its five open pits in January 2011 and poured its first dor bars in April 2011.
