PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), the manager of the Martabe Gold Mine, won first place in the prestigious ASEAN Mineral Awards (AMA) 2023 in the mineral processing category, outperforming other mining companies in Southeast Asia.
The award was received by PTAR Deputy General Manager Operations Wira Dharma Putra at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel and Residence, Cambodia, Thursday (23/11).
“We are very happy and proud to win first place in the mineral processing category at the 2023 ASEAN Mineral Awards,” said Wira in a written statement, Thursday (29/11/2023).
According to him, this achievement confirms our commitment to operational excellence, environmental responsibility and high standards of mining practices which continue to be supported by the Indonesian government, in this case the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The ASEAN Mineral Awards is a prestigious award to appreciate mining and mineral processing companies that contribute to innovation in sustainable mineral development in Southeast Asia.
This award was part of The Ninth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals (The 9th AMMin) and Associated Meetings/Events which was opened by ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn.
The assessment aspects in this award are the company’s contribution to community development, innovation, implications for ASEAN mineral supplies, human resource development, productivity and resource efficiency, as well as real health, safety and environmental performance.
“This award is the result of our consistent efforts in implementing best mining and mineral processing practices, ensuring efficient gold extraction and production and minimizing environmental impacts through the innovations we create,” continued Wira.
Wira said, PTAR is fully committed to implementing sustainable mining practices and building positive relationships with local communities.
The company’s success in mineral processing is not only a testament to its technical expertise, but also its dedication to social responsibility, environmental and operational sustainability.
Previously, PTAR also won an international award at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2023 event. PTAR received a Gold rating at the awards night held at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Monday (6/11/2023).
The ASRRAT awards have been organized by the National Center for Corporate Reporting (NCCR) since 2005 as an initiative to provide a ranking assessment of corporate sustainability reports in the Asian region.
This year, ASRRAT was attended by 68 companies from within the country and Asia Pacific, namely the Philippines, Bangladesh, Russia and Australia.
The ASRRAT 2023 assessment process involves a panel of five judges and a team of assessors consisting of 18 certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist (CSRS) assessors.
According to PTAR President Director Muliady Sutio, this award illustrates PTAR’s commitment to implementing transparent reporting standards.
