ITMG Spends IDR 4.3 Billion for Kutai Drilling Expansion

During the period from July to September 2023, Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) conducted operational activities in coal mining. Monika Ida Krisnamurti, the Corporate Secretary of ITMG, stated in a written statement on Thursday (12/10) that the drilling activities carried out in July and September 2023 were a continuation of the activities from the previous months.

The exploration activities were carried out by the Geology Department, with a focus on pre-production and development drilling activities using open-hole and coring methods in each subsidiary of PT. Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG), as reported by emitennews.com.

Trubaindo Coal Mining conducted drilling in the North Block and South Block areas located in Muara Lawa District, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province. This was performed by the drilling contractor PT. Cosyindo Teknik (CT). In the period of July to September 2023, pre-production drilling activities had not been carried out in the North Block due to land release issues and the evaluation of drilling point plans waiting for the approval of the revised RKAB 2023 permit.

For the South Block (SB2), pre-production drilling activities had been conducted, for the South Block (SB1), pre-production drilling activities would begin in October 2023, and for the South Block (SB3), it was still awaiting the approval of the Exploration PPKH permit by the KLHK with a cost of IDR 2.14 billion.

PT. Indominco Mandiri conducted drilling in the West Block and East Block located in Sangatta District, Kutai Timur Regency, Marang Kayu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, and Bontang Utara and Selatan Districts, Bontang Regency, East Kalimantan Province, with a cost of IDR 1.28 billion.

Bharinto Ekatama conducted drilling in the Damai District, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province, and Teweh Timur District, Barito Utara Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, with an exploration area of 17,311 hectares. They conducted exploration drilling activities in the Tenaik Block with an Exploration PPKH permit in 2023. The drilling included 31 open-hole boreholes with a depth of 2,442 meters and 375 meters of core drilling (Coring), incurring costs of IDR 894.79 million.

Monika added that PT. Jorong Barutama Greston (JBG) conducted operational drilling activities in the West Block and East Block areas of the PKP2B located in Jorong District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Year-to-date until September 30, 2023, ITMG had carried out 45 pre-production drilling activities with a total depth of 2,121.79 meters, resulting in a total exploration cost incurred by ITMG in the third quarter amounting to IDR 4.32 billion.
